Original is 16 x 40".  Acrylic on canvas.  This was one of my "first generation" pieces from 2020. I have given it a complete refresh to enhance the depth and contrast. Maui has some pretty spectacular venues to surf. This location and wave is absolute eye candy for any surfer or ocean lover. When Haleakala erupted 100s of years ago (1700s) the lava flowed down its southern slopes to the ocean below. The flow created an eventual marine reserve where south swells and offshore winds meet the reefs below.  The corals are spectactular that have developed on the nastiest of lava rocks.  Its also fairly sharky too!  I love this place!
